Hammerfest hosted the first stage of ARN in 2014 and is now proud to welcome the race back to the Northernmost Town in the World. At 70º north and located on the island of Kvaløya, it is a multicultural and vibrant regional hub in the Arctic with over 10,500 inhabitants from 68 countries. It combines lively city life with breathtaking raw nature. You can visit the Museum of Reconstruction to learn how the people persevered after the total destruction of Hammerfest during WWII, experience Sami culture at Mikkelgammen and visit the Polar Bear Society for a historical view into Arctic exploration, fishing and hunting. You can also enjoy the stunning view from Salen Mountain or the historic UNESCO World Heritage site Struve Geodetic Arc.
