Welcome to Fauske, the town that bridges the north and the south. We are often referred to as a hub, particularly concerning goods and transportation, but we are much more than that. We are a power community with the largest hydroelectric power producer in Northern Norway. We have a lively and rich cultural life and are a well-known event-hosting municipality that creates community celebrations.

Fauske is called Fuosko in Lule Sami, but we are also situated in the heart of the Pite Sami area. We have beautiful mountains and the abundant Saltenfjorden. The significant changes in water masses provide a solid foundation for a diverse ecosystem. You can forage for mushrooms and berries in nature or savor the fantastic produce from Arctic agriculture.

Here, you can step across the threshold and find yourself in a unique natural setting. We have two national parks, Junkerdalen and Sjunkhatten, and two glaciers, Blåmannsisen and Sulitjelmaisen. Everything is prepared for fantastic natural experiences. You can commence your journey to the highest border point between Norway and Sweden from Fauske.

Fauske also holds historical significance. Mining was a major industry in Sulitjelma for a long time, and in 1907, we witnessed the beginning of what created the welfare state with workers' rights. You can experience this by visiting the mines and the mining museum or by watching the film "Sulis 1907" at the cinema.

If you want a piece of Fauske in the wider world, you can visit places like the UN building in New York, Gardermoen Airport, and the Opera House in Stockholm. One of our specialties, Fauske marble, has been used to adorn these buildings, known as Coloritt, Antique Fonce, and Norwegian Rose.

Welcome to Fauske! We look forward to seeing you!
