“I didn’t have any reason to save energy for the final so I went flat out for the last intermediate sprint. Had I been the first rider of the peloton, I would have kept the jersey for one second. A rider from Arkea [Laurent Pichon] was faster so he took and I have nothing to regret. I suppose he did that for Warren Barguil. I was expecting to lose the jersey to Kristoff today but I hope to get it back tomorrow.”
