Martin Laas: "The biggest win of my career!"

“It’s the biggest victory for me and I’m glad it happens in Finland. It’s still 1500 kilometres from home in Estonia but it’s still a neighbour country. It was a very tough sprint with a bit of headwind and it was slightly downhill. Honestly with 5km I felt cramps and I wasn’t sure if I could sprint or not but in the end, it worked really well. Rudi [Selig] brought me to 300 metres to go. From there I just followed some wheels. In the last 150m, I launched my sprint. I saw from the left side that I was faster than Kristoff. I was quite sure I was gonna pass him but in the end it was quite close. I’m lucky to have a good lead out here. Today was basically the only opportunity for us to take a victory. We played all the cards we had.”
