Johan Ravnøy: “Standing on the podium is a dream come true”

August 12 th 2022 - 17:22 [GMT + 2]

It was a long, hard day on the break. I’m happy that we stayed away from the peloton so far into the stage. Getting the most aggressive rider prize is a further reward on top of that success. Standing on the podium of the Arctic Race of Norway is a dream come true – especially in home soil, it’s a childhood dream. This is my first participation on this event and it is unreal to take this prize. The Arctic Race of Norway is a key race for us, as it is one of the three professional events we take part on this year. It’s always important to be on the break and show our jersey. Thor Hushovd? He is a living example that it is possible to become the best rider in the world coming from the Far North and its harsh weather conditions. I am a time-triallist, but I’m developing into a punchy type and it was quite good to go on the break today and show my abilities.
