I am happy with my result. Of course, if you are second that means you could also have won the race… but I think Uno-X did a perfect, strong race today. I was a bit alone in the last final kilometer, yet I’m very happy with how I felt throughout the stage as it was my first race in one month and a half and, after having an altitude training camp in this period, I find I am in good shape. It was a nervous stage, especially in the last 20 kilometers. Most of the fast riders survived to the last climb despite the high pace there and the run-in to the sprint was very hectic. I think I got a bit boxed in with 500 meters to go and couldn’t start the sprint as early as I wanted… but I insist that this second place is good for me.
