Sebastian Veslum: “Today I felt super proud of being Norwegian”
August 9 th 2025 - 19:32 [GMT + 2]
Sebastian Veslum (Norwegian National Team) was in the breakaway on the 3rd stage of the 2025 Arctic Race of Norway, and was awarded the most active rider prize.
“Today I felt super proud of being Norwegian, riding in this beautiful nature. This is my first pro race and I fully enjoyed the day. I come from Asker, a city near Oslo, and this is my first visit to Northern Norway. The plan today was to try and claim as many KOM points as possible to put Morthen [Wang Baksaas] ahead of Storm [Ingebrigtsen] in the overall standings. After the first climb, our two rivals didn’t want to take turns in the breakaway, so I had to pull solo for about 20 kilometers in order to keep our gap over the bunch. It was nice to show my power on TV, anyway. It’s nice I could stand on the podium too, claiming something for myself from the breakaway. As for tomorrow, we will try to be on the break again so Morthen can claim the northern lights jersey.”
