Christian Scaroni: “Strong deserved this victory”

Christian Scaroni (XDS-Astana) finished 3rd overall in the 2025 Arctic Race of Norway, and his squad won the Teams classification.

“I am just half satisfied, because this race was a specific goal of mine ever since I finished the Giro d’Italia. I already finished on the podium of this race two years ago, and I wanted to finally take the victory. Unfortunately, I found two riders who were stronger than me. I was hoping for a perfect day, but in the end we have to settle with this result. It’s a solid one, nonetheless, but I’ll definitely try and claim a win before the end of the season.”

“From the very first pedal strokes, Israel showed they had a very strong team and intended to control the race. They were magnificent at that, and it made it very difficult for us to take something away from them. On top of that, [Corbin] Strong proved to be in great shape. He even reacted to every meaningful attack today. He deserved this victory and we can only congratulate him.”
