Arctic Race winner collects salmon prize in Alpine ceremony

Bideau is delighted with both the prize and their performance in the Arctic Race.
"It was a fantastic race. Fjords! Mountains! It was a unique setting for a bike race, and something you might get to experience only once in a lifetime. For me it was a completely unique experience", says the Frenchman.

Bideau could have eaten the entire prize during the training camp in the Alps, but wanted to share it with friends and family at home.
"My freezer is not big enough to store so much salmon, so I'm going to share the prize with my family, teammates, support team and perhaps a local non-profit organization that could do something useful with it”.

Ken Rune Bekkeli from Salak is very pleased with the event.
"We found out that we were going to beat the big drum and give a half tonne of salmon as a prize. The stunt got a lot of attention and we think it is incredibly fun to be here in France and hand out the prize personally. That Bideau is a salmon fan and so grateful for the prize is an added bonus", says Bekkeli.

Polar Quality will once again this year distribute 500 kg of salmon to a rider during the Arctic Race.
"Last year we awarded the prize along with Salak. This year we will distribute 500 kg of salmon with the Salten Aqua founders. There was never any doubt that we would distribute another 500 kilos when the Arctic Race returned to Nordland", says Marit Sivertsen of Polar Quality.
