Polar Kraft, a national supplier of electricity and one of Northern Norway's largest with offices in eight cities in Northern Norway, have started partnership with Arctic Race of Norway.
- We are very pleased to have a partnership agreement with a vital company that has many similar values with us, says general manager Knut-Eirik Dybdal in Arctic Race of Norway.
One of the ambitions for Arctic Race of Norway is to contribute to a positive development across northern Norway. It is about literally the same as Polar Kraft's objective. This was an important reason why Polar Kraft and the bike race came together.
- We could have had only one office in Northern Norway, but we have eight around the region because we are concerned about being close to our customers. In the same way, we experience that the Arctic Race of Norway, which has become a national and international actor, aims to lift the entire region, and facilitate more cooperation. We want to be part of this and to support it, says Herold Myrland, CEO of Polar Kraft.
Polar Kraft is committed to developing Northern Norway in a sustainable way. This means, among other things, that the company wants to contribute to more electrification. This is in line with the Arctic Race of Norway's goal of becoming the world's first bicycle race to use only electric cars as support cars. In the previous race there were 46 electric cars and in this year's race the majority of the around 120 cars will be electric cars.
- We want to be more than a bike race and are committed to contributing to innovation in a sustainable direction. Pushing for electrification and constantly setting offensive goals for how we can reduce emissions in our own activities is the core of this. With this partnership we will further strengthen ourselves in this field, says Dybdal.
Arctic Race and Norway had to be postponed in 2020, due to the pandemic. In August, it breaks loose again, and Polar Kraft looks forward to helping to create a good event.
- Arctic Race of Norway has really made a folk festival throughout Northern Norway over several years. We are very much looking forward to contributing to this in the future, concludes Herold Myrland in Polar Kraft.
