Stephen Bassett: “I’ll keep getting into breakaways”

Today was harder than yesterday, for sure! Just getting in the break was more demanding. Yesterday I just sild in, pretty easily - today there was a bigger fight. There were three hard KOM sprints and I came second on each summit to hold the jersey. Yesterday I was fresher, but today all the KOM sprints were just over the crest and he [Aaron Van Poucke] got good runs on me each time. I need to be smarter the coming days! The only possible plan to get the Peacock jersey home is keep getting into breakaways… so I’ll keep doing that!
