Giovanni Lonardi (Polti VisitMalta) is the first leader of the 2026 Arctic Race of Norway after winning in Myre, securing his team’s first victory and taking the race lead on his debut in the Norwegian event.

“I’ve been searching this win a lot this year, and it came today, so I’m super happy. The team did an amazing job today. I have no words. I’m in good shape, I tried to win in the lasts weeks as well, but I didn’t have the best feeling this year to sprint like this. Today we did everything right and I managed to win.”

“The plan was to win, and tomorrow is also a good stage for me, maybe another sprint. Then we have two good riders for the general classification over the next last days, so we’ll see.”
