Giovanni Lonardi: "We'll try to win another stage"

Giovanni Lonardi (Polti VisitMalta) finished third on Stage 2 of the 2026 Arctic Race of Norway and remains the overall leader ahead of the more mountainous stages.

“I’m happy. I was also looking for the win today, but it’s not so easy. We’re happy with the jersey, and tomorrow will be a another day.”

“We have two riders who can do well tomorrow and in the last stage, so we hope for a good general classification result with [Ludovico] Crescioli and [Dario] Giuliano. We’ll stay together and try to win another stage.”

The Italian also leads the points classification and can target the blue jersey: “I’ll try to fight to keep it until the last day.”
