Pillar 3 – Healthier Lifestyles

Inspiring everyone to embrace an active lifestyle

Sport has the power to energise communities, bring people together and encourage healthier lifestyles.

Through its visibility and close connection with local communities, the Arctic Race of Norway inspires people of all ages to get active, participate and discover the benefits of sport and physical activity.

SpareBank 1 Nord-Norge Mini Arctic Race

The SpareBank 1 Nord-Norge Mini Arctic Race is a fun, free and inclusive cycling event designed to introduce children to the joy of sport.

Open to all, it gives young participants the opportunity to experience the excitement of the Arctic Race of Norway in a safe and welcoming environment.

Since its launch in 2013, more than 19,000 children have taken part in the Mini Arctic Race, making it one of the event’s most impactful community initiatives.

Polar Kraft Sprint

The Polar Kraft Sprint is a community running event organised on the race finish line before the arrival of the professional cyclists.

Open to members of local partner clubs, the initiative combines sporting participation with direct support for grassroots sport.

For each sprint, Polar Kraft awards NOK 10,000 to a participating club. During the 2025 edition, a total of NOK 58,000 was distributed, creating memorable moments for young athletes while providing valuable financial support to local sports organisations.

Collaboration with Local Sports Clubs

The Arctic Race of Norway works closely with local sports clubs to organise a variety of side events alongside the professional race.

These activities include roller skiing, running, cycling and other community sporting events that allow residents to actively participate in the race experience.

While roads are temporarily closed for the race, local clubs can use this unique opportunity to organise their own competitions and activities, ensuring the wider community directly benefits from the event.

In 2025, approximately 2,000 participants took part in ARN side events, further strengthening community engagement and promoting active lifestyles throughout Northern Norway.
