Pillar 1 – Sustainability

Driving environmental sustainability forward by pioneering new standards

The Arctic Race of Norway takes place in one of the world’s most spectacular natural arenas: the landscapes of Northern Norway. Preserving this environment is not only a responsibility but a defining ambition.

ARN strives to set new sustainability standards in the organisation of major sporting events, particularly through responsible mobility and environmentally conscious operations.

Fully Electric Fleet

Arctic Race of Norway, the first professional cycling race powered entirely by electric vehicles.

ARN is the only cycling race in the world to operate with a fully electric fleet, demonstrating that large-scale sporting events can significantly reduce their environmental footprint.

This ambitious project is made possible through close collaboration with our official partner Hyundai and our official supplier Kempower.

Dedicated Waste-Collection Zones

To help protect the exceptional natural environment crossed by the race, dedicated waste-collection zones are implemented along the route.

These structured collection areas encourage responsible waste management, preserve natural landscapes and minimise the impact of the event on local ecosystems.

Eco Lighthouse Certification

We are eco-certified.

Arctic Race of Norway has been awarded the Eco Lighthouse certification, the most recognised environmental certification scheme in Norway and the equivalent of international standards such as ISO 14001 and EMAS.

This certification recognises and documents our commitment to reducing the environmental impact of the event and ensures sustainability is integrated into every stage of our planning process.

This is only the beginning of our journey, and we remain committed to developing new initiatives and continuously improving our environmental performance in the years ahead.

Mack x Infinitum

Through the collaboration between Mack and Infinitum, the Arctic Race of Norway promotes circular economy principles and encourages responsible recycling practices.

This initiative highlights the importance of resource efficiency and demonstrates how partnerships can contribute to more sustainable event operations.
