Local Engagement
REMA 1000 highlights the cycling race's societal role when explaining why they are back as a partner.

  • "At REMA 1000, we have a beating heart for the communities we are part of. Being present where our customers are and contributing to strengthening local engagement is an important part of our philosophy. The Arctic Race of Norway is an event that brings communities together and creates engagement. These are values we share and want to support, which is why we have signed a new collaboration agreement," says Vidar Riseth, Sponsorship Manager at REMA 1000.

Good Choices for Health
He promises that the stores along the route will actively participate in the festivities and invite the local population to activities and fun outside the stores.

  • "The collaboration also gives us a platform to influence customers to make good health choices by eating more fruits and vegetables. Our store managers will organize activities that promote physical activity and the opportunity to make healthier food choices. Additionally, we hope that top cyclists will inspire more people to use bicycles in their daily lives, whether it's for work, school, or shopping," says Riseth.

More Collaboration
Uno-X is already a partner for REMA 1000, like Uno-X and the cycling team Uno-X Mobility, owned by Reitan Retail. General Manager Knut-Eirik Dybdal is pleased that Rema 1000 is now part of the team that will further develop Northern Norway.

  • "Northern Norway is a region of opportunities, and the Arctic Race of Norway is an example of what we can achieve when we work together. REMA 1000 is an important player in Northern Norway, and we are glad that they are now part of the team that will continue to create new opportunities for Northern Norway," says Dybdal.

He believes that REMA 1000's desire to contribute to healthier choices fits well with the Arctic Race of Norway.

  • "Our audience surveys show that many are inspired to cycle more when they watch the Arctic Race of Norway. If REMA 1000 can also inspire healthier food choices, we can together do something positive for public health," says Dybdal.

From Kvæfjord to Tromsø
This year's edition of the Arctic Race of Norway starts in Kvæfjord on August 7. Previous editions of the race have also passed through the municipality, but this is the first time they are hosting the start of a stage. After passing through Sør-Troms and around Senja up to Målselv mountain village, the race concludes with a spectacular final stage that goes nine laps around Tromsøya on Sunday, August 10. Dybdal looks forward to seeing what the people of Tromsø can create in terms of festivities along the route with the new concept.

  • "With so many laps in a limited area, there will be good opportunities for everyone who wants to follow the drama from the sidelines. We look forward to seeing how this will be received by the audience," concludes Dybdal.
