Corbin Strong: “My options of keeping the Midnight Sun jersey tomorrow are quite slim”
August 8 th 2025 - 19:42 [GMT + 2]
Corbin Strong (Israel-Premier Tech) leads the 2025 Arctic Race of Norway after its 2nd stage. He also leads the Points and the Young Riders classifications.
“It was a really straight and fast run-in into the final corner. We knew it was a race towards the final turn and we were a little bit too patient, so we got caught by the crash. Thankfully, we managed to stay upright and in the end it was nice to see my teammate Tom [Van Asbroeck] get his own chance to sprint.”
“My options of keeping the Midnight Sun jersey tomorrow are quite slim. Guys like Tom Pidcock or Christian Scaroni have both won mountain stages in Grand Tours, and they are just the spearhead of a broad cast of climbers. 4 kilometers at 8% are a bit too much for me to challenge them. My teammates Hugo Houle and Riley Sheehan stand a better chance of fighting for the win.”
“I got 50 kilos of salmon after my victory yesterday from race sponsor BR Karlsen. We already had some for dinner last night, both staff and riders. I hope I can fit the rest of it in my luggage, because I have some friends at home that will gladly share it with me.”
