“It’s a good result. We came here to get a good GC. I’m third and I’ll try to confirm this position tomorrow and why try to better it even though it’ll be complicated. I’ve seen a moment of respite with 1km to go and I took advantage of it. But I didn’t want to give it all. I looked back and I saw two riders coming across. I waited for them because if I didn’t, I knew they’d counter attack me. At the end, Ben Hermans was the strongest. I’m already happy with being able to do what I did today. Two weeks ago, I resumed riding my bike after a small injury due to a touch of the handlebar with my knee during a training camp. It’s satisfying to be third and best young rider. I’ll try to retain this white jersey tomorrow.”
